General FAQs

What’s the difference between a dietitian and a nutritionist?
Both are trained in food and nutrition, and dietitians also have additional qualifications that allow them to work in clinical settings. Dietitians can provide medical nutrition therapy for health conditions like diabetes, gut issues, and food allergies, along with everything a nutritionist does.
Do I need a referral to see a dietitian?
No referral is required. However, if your GP provides a Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDMP) or Eating Disorder Plan (EDP), you may be eligible for Medicare rebates, which reduce out-of-pocket costs.
Do I need a referral to see a nutritionist?
No.
Do you accept Chronic Disease Management Plans (CDMP)?
Yes — if your GP provides one, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates on up to 5 dietitian sessions per year.
Is Medicare available with a GP referral?
Yes. With a valid care plan (CDMP or EDP), you can access up to 5 subsidised appointments per calendar year.
Can I claim through private health insurance?

Do I need to be weighed?
Only if it’s relevant to your goals and never if you feel uncomfortable.

Our programs include regular InBody 570 Body Composition Analyser scans to monitor your progress in terms of water, fat, protein, muscle, bone mineral, and more. These scans allow us to regularly monitor your level of body fat, lean muscle mass, and muscular development so you can understand how your BBN eating plan, lifestyle, and training regime are influencing your overall body composition.
Do I have to exercise as part of the program?
You don’t have to exercise to get results from a BBN program — nutrition is the foundation, and for many people, it’s the first and most important step.

But movement can help with energy, metabolism, mood, and overall well-being. If and when you're ready, we have trained personal trainers on staff who can guide you with realistic, supportive exercise that suits your goals, body, and lifestyle.
Are your programs easy to follow?
Yes. All plans are personalised to suit your lifestyle, schedule, and family — no rigid rules or unrealistic expectations.
Can I book a one-off appointment or do I need to commit to a full program?
Several payment options are available. Plans include (upfront) or fortnightly payments. These will be discussed in your ConsultaaYes. After your initial consult, we’ll guide you on what’s best — whether a single session, casual support, or a longer-term program. tion

Appointments & Admin FAQs

Can I do my program completely online?
Yes — we support regional, interstate, and international clients via Telehealth. We recommend you find a local InBody scanner and share the reports so we can track your progress and make appropriate adjustments.
What happens if I miss an appointment?
Life happens. If you cannot make it, just let us know as soon as you can, and we’ll reschedule without fuss.
Can I ask questions between sessions?
Yes — we provide support via email and phone in between appointments.
Do I need to bring anything to my appointments?
If you have recent blood test results or relevant health info, feel free to bring it.

Otherwise, your practitioner will let you know if you need to bring any items to your appointments.

We generally check your progress at each appointment using the InBody 570 scanner. You will need to fast 2-3 hours before your appointment.
How often will I have appointments?
It depends on your program and goals. We’ll work with your schedule to create a sustainable rhythm.
Can I book a one-off consult without joining a program?
Absolutely.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes — we’ll provide full details when you book.

Can you help me build muscle, not just lose weight?
Absolutely. Our programs support fat loss and lean muscle maintenance or gain.
What’s the difference between weight loss and fat loss?
Weight loss can include water, muscle, and fat. Fat loss focuses on reducing fat while preserving lean muscle, which is healthier and more sustainable.
Do I have to shop at specialty health food stores?
Nope! Everything we recommend can be found at your local supermarket.
Are recipes included?
Yes — we have a recipe database full of simple, family-friendly meals and snacks.
Can I eat out while following the program?
Yes, the Body Balancing Nutrition program is designed to fit into your lifestyle easily. We’ll give you tips for navigating social events, menus, and takeaway options.
Do I have to cook 6–7 meals a day?
Not at all. We focus on realistic meal planning that works with your schedule, including quick and convenient options.
Do I have to give up my favourite meals?
Not necessarily. We’ll help you tweak them or offer satisfying swaps that align with your goals.
Can I have blowouts and still see results?
Yes. Progress isn’t about perfection. We’ll support you to get back on track as often as needed — no guilt, just momentum.

What happens after my program ends?
If you'd like to continue, we offer several options for ongoing support, including casual consults, progress scans, and program extensions.
Is ongoing support available?
Yes — we’re here for the long run if you need us.

Yes. Most of our clients are juggling work, family, and life. We take the guesswork out of it and tailor your plan to fit your schedule and energy.

Will I have to give up coffee, wine or chocolate?
Not necessarily. Our goal is to educate and empower you so you can choose what fits into your life. With a few smart tweaks, most favourites can stay.
Will I be judged if I’m not “perfect”?
